While mom and dad haven't seen eye-to-eye on every issue ever since they decided to divorce in 2005 after three years of marriage, the pair has been able to come together for their children's sake.
And although many of the functions are kept private, one special occasion was Sami's 11th birthday where the family came together at a Los Angeles restaurant.
"In the last few years, things have gotten really great with us," Denise said during an appearance on HuffPost Live back in 2013. "We're very close and we're good friends, which is great because it's great for our kids."
She added, "From day one, I've always wanted to keep the kids a priority and suck it up for them, but it takes two people to do that."
