Tulisa Drug Deal Trial Back In Studio - Celebrity News

Tulisa has revealed that she tried to commit suicide last year, when she was charged with supplying Class A drugs.

Speaking for the first time since the drug trial collapsed, and she was charged with assault, the singer told Newsbeat:

"There was a really low point.

"I was so low, so far away from where I am now, that I felt like I was possessed by someone else.

"I was so weak that I didn't have an ounce of strength left in me."

In a BBC Three documentary broadcast tonight, Tulisa also revealed she took a potentially lethal combination of pills and alcohol in December 2013, after she was framed by The Sun on Sunday's "Fake Sheikh" Mazher Mahmood.

She said she was an "emotional wreck" when she was formally charged with the supply of Class A drugs, and spent hours crying with her N Dubz bandmate and cousin Dappy, before "necking" pills and alcohol.

"I'd had a drink so everything felt even more intensified," she said. "I just picked up, like, 11 Co-codamol and just necked them with a bottle of vodka. I don't even know what I was planning to do."

Despite her friend calling an ambulance, Contostavlos refused to go to hospital and was fine the next day. "Luckily I was just drowsy," she said. "I woke up the next day just numb."

Talking about feeling suicidal, the singer said:

"I don't have the energy any more to do this and even if I get through it, then what? I'm just going to be drained as a person".

"I'm going to be numb by the end of this. I don't know how much of me I'm going to have left. And I was like, shall I just end it? Shall I just get on with it and just never have to feel like this ever again?"

Tulisa has previously attempted suicide, at the age of 14 and 17. But despite the stress of the past year, now the trial is over, she's in a more positive place, telling Newsbeat:

"I just think I lost it for a bit. I'd been broken down, grated. I was just drained" she added.

"Everything's been a lesson, a journey, an experience. I'm lucky to be here now and have a second chance at what I do and get my livelihood back."

Tulisa: The Price of Fame will broadcast on BBC Three tonight at 10pm.

A couple of hours ago we were flying the flag for Tulisa, commending her for keeping her chin up and getting to the studio mere days after enduring a tough trial in which she was accused of brokering a drug deal for an undercover journalist.

Right, erm, so now we need to backtrack slightly and inform you that there's been a slight blip in Tulisa's progress as she has now been charged with drunkenly assaulting blogger and TOWIE star Vas J Morgan at V Festival last year.

The N-Dubz singer allegedly muttered "this is bulls**t" after being fined £200 and ordered to pay costs.

Vas Morgan said the former X Factor judge ran towards him in a "drunken and angry state" at the event in August, saying she "she knew people from the streets" and was worth £10m.

But a rep for Tulisa said at the time: "Tulisa strongly denies assaulting Mr Morgan. She specifically denies punching Mr Morgan in the eye.

"She has placed this matter in the hands of her lawyers for immediate and appropriate action."

Let's hope Tulisa, who has just gone back into the studio to record her second solo album, will be able to keep herself out of trouble from now on.

Tulisa Contostavlos is a fighter, that's for sure - only days after being cleared of helping to broker a drug deal, the former X Factor judge is back in the studio and working on a new album.

The singer has already started work on a second solo album, with some high-profile collaborations to come and a record deal already set.

According to The Mirror, the new record will be influenced by all that Tulisa's had to deal with in the last year, and will be darker than her previous work.

"Tulisa isn't shy about speaking her mind and a lot of her songs will detail the hell she's been through over the past 12 months," a source said.

"She won't be pulling any punches and some of it could be pretty dark and twisty."

"This past week has been absolutely manic, but Tulisa just wants to get her head down now and focus on work," the source continued.

"She has a career to re-launch and she needs to start making some money. Her record label has stuck by her throughout all of this, so she wants to repay them by laying down the new tracks as quickly as possible.

"She is hoping to have a new single out before the end of the year."

We're sure that if the track is even half as catchy as her previous hit, Young, Tulisa's sure to rise to the top of the charts in no time.

Simon Cowell has denied allegations that he is gay after claims were made in the Tulisa drug trial.

Last week, jurors played a recording of Tulisa's PA Gareth Varey telling the 'Fake Sheik' Mazher Mahmood (who was an uncercover reporter posing as a film executive) that the X Factor don was gay.

Mr Mahmood asked Gareth if Simon was gay, and he said "yes". When asked if he'd slept with Simon, Gareth said "No...One day I will make my move".

When asked how he knew if Simon was gay, Gareth responded that he "knew people" who had slept with Simon.

Last week, a spokesperson for Cowell said a statement would be released once the trial had ended. And after the trial collapsed yesterday and Tulisa was cleared of all charges (scroll down for the details), it has surfaced:

"Simon was referred to during the trial without forewarning, resulting in widespread media coverage of untrue claims regarding his private life," the statement began. "In 2014 the question of whether someone is or is not gay is antiquated. (As it happens he isn't, though if he were, he would simply have said so)." "However, the issue was the false suggestion made by Mr Varey that Simon - who is renowned for his honesty and candidness - had thus not been truthful in the public arena and this is what we have been obliged to clarify."

Tulisa Contostavlos has been cleared of drug charges. The former N Dubz star and X Factor judge was on trial for organising an £820 drug deal between friend Mike 'GLC' Coombs, and an undercover reporter, who she believed to be a "big shot" film producer.

But the case was thrown out of Southwark Crown Court today as the judge told the jury: "There are strong grounds for believing Mr Mahmood told me lies", according to The Mirror .

Judge Alistair McCreath announced that the trial could no longer proceed:

"Where there has been some aspect of the investigation or prosecution of a crime which is tainted in some way by serious misconduct to the point that the integrity of the court would be compromised by allowing the trial to go ahead, then the court has no alternative but to say 'this case must go no further'."

He added: "Miss Contostavlos was taken in by Mr Mahmood and believed that a film part was coming her way...But things were said by him and others associated with him which made her think her chances of getting the part would be boosted if she made herself out to be a streetwise woman, familiar with, and to some extent, involved with drugs."

The Sun on Sunday investigative reporter Mazher Mahmood, known as the 'Fake Sheikh' and who used the name Samir Khan, met Tulisa in Las Vegas last March. Posing as a Bollywood producer, he told her he wanted her for the lead role in a Slumdog Millionaire esque-film alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The court also heard how Mahmood spiked Tulisa's drink, and was asked if he touched Tulisa's thigh to "create a friendly and inviting atmopshere" during a recorded conversation.

Mahmood denied spiking Tulisa's drink, but did admit to using subterfuge. Tulisa's defence argued that the singer was "utterly manipulated by the team of undercover reporters".

Tulisa Contostavlos has made her first appearance in court today - and was told she will stand trial on 14 July for brokering a cocaine deal.

Appearing alongside rapper Mike GLC (real name Mike Coombes) at Southwark Crown Court for a 10-minute preliminary hearing this morning, the pair spoke only to confirm their names and have been unconditionally bailed until 27 March, when they will return to enter their pleas.

Tulisa arrived at court accompanied by her personal assistant Gareth Varey, wearing a black polo neck jumper.

She is pleading "not guilty" to the charge of supplying 13.9 grams of cocaine to the Sun on Sunday's undercover reporter Mazher Mahmood between May 20 and May 24. Coombes is also denying the charges of supplying the drugs.

The trial date has been set a day after Tulisa's 26th birthday.

Tulisa Contostavlos made her way to Westminster Magistrates Court in London today, and denied one charge of being concerned with supply of Class A drugs.

The N-Dubz star is accused of setting up an £860 deal to sell 13.9 grams of cocaine to an undercover reporter.

Perhaps taking tips from Nigella's court room attire, the 25-year-old stepped out in a pair of black trousers, teamed with a black top and jacket. She completed her look with a pair of towering Christian Louboutin shoes.

Tulisa was given unconditional bail and will next appear at Southwark Crown Court in central London on 14th January.

Tulisa's lawyers have released a statement in response to the news that she has been charged for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Ben Rose of Hickman and Rose, released the following statement, revealing that the singer will plead "not guilty".

"Tulisa has been charged with a serious criminal offence to which she will plead not guilty.

"As has been widely reported, this entire case has been manufactured by the<span class="apple-converted-space"> Sunday Sun and Mazher Mahmood, sometimes known as the fake sheikh. They spend a large amount of their readers' money in flying Tulisa and a number of her friends first class to Las Vegas. There Mahmood posed as a film producer offering her a £3million film contract.

"This case is not simply about drug supply. It is about the limits which we set on the conduct of journalists. The media have rightly been criticised in recent years for the gross invasion into the private life of others. Tulisa is the latest in a long line of people who have been treated as fodder by greedy newspapers. This was a deliberate attempt to target a young woman who is all the more vulnerable because of her celebrity status.

"The law clearly forbids such conduct on the part of the police. It is ironic that the police should rely on it when it is the work of a journalist.

"In due course Tulisa will give a full answer to these allegations in court."

Yesterday Tulisa was charged by the Crown Prosecution Service, and is due to appear in Westminster Magistrates' Court next week.

Tulisa Contostavlos has been charged for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and will appear in court next week.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed today that the singer and former X Factor host is to be charged, and will appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on 19 December 2013.

Baljit Ubhey, CPA London Chief Crown Prosecutor released the following statement:

"The Crown Prosecution Service has today authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge Tulisa Contostavlos, 25, with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

"This charge relates to an investigation by The Sun newspaper between early March 2013 and 23 May 2013 which resulted in the supply of Class A drugs to an investigative journalist.

"We have determined that there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and that a prosecution is in the public interest."

Tulisa was arrested along with 35 year-old musician Mike GLC on June 4 this year after authorities said they had "received information concerning the alleged supply of illegal drugs at a central London location".

Tulisa Contostavlos has been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

The former X Factor judge and a 35-year-old friend were both taken into custody by police, a day after law authorities said they had "received information concerning the alleged supply of illegal drugs at a central London location".

The arrest follows a report run by The Sun On Sunday newspaper, which claimed Tulisa acted as a go-between when she introduced one of their undercover journalists to an alleged supplier, and subsequently oversaw a £800 sale of cocaine.

According to the tabloid, the 24-year-old singer told the reporter: "Half my phone book sells it. Of course I can get it for you. Half the guys I know are drug dealers."

The paper went on to claim that half an ounce of cocaine was exchanged in the deal that took place at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

Both Tulisa and the other man in question remain in custody at a central London police station.

A spokesperson for Tulisa is yet to comment on her arrest.
